Unless you are trained athlete specialized in long jump, we wouldn’t recommend you attempt to replicate the heroic feat that won the gorge known as the “warrior’s leap” its reputation…
Standing almost 30 meters above sea level, legend has it that the warrior, cornered by many enemies, leapt across the abyss which in fact measures almost 7 meters in width! As for the enemies, they broke their necks (and no doubt everything else) and ended up at the bottom of the ocean.
Found around 7 km from La Roche, the site is most certainly a must-see for anyone staying on Maré island. But take care… Not everyone can be a legendary warrior!
