With an altitude of 132 meters, the Ouen Toro hill dominates the south of Nouméa. Its esplanade offers a 360° view over the city, the lagoon and the mountain foothills. When the weather is clear (which is rather frequent!) you can easily see the Amédée lighthouse 20 kilometers away.

Most tourists only take the road up to the esplanade dominating the hill, but Nouméans make the most of the municipal park’s 60 hectares, with plenty of well-marked paths and with landscapes evoking both Colorado and the Turkish Cappadoce.
